The MRT Virtual Roundtable

An online networking resource for product development professionals

A distant relative of mine once disclosed to me his technique for impressing executives at parties and receptions in Hong Kong. He'd wait for an opportune moment to get someone alone or in a small group, and then he would ask them in a hushed tone, "What's your secret?". Although I was in my early 20s at the time, it still struck me as especially obsequious and quite corny, like a scene from a bad sitcom.

It is in this non-sequatorial manner that I now direct you to my latest column featured in Time Compression Magazine:

"The Secrets of Product Development Success Revealed!"

I liked this blog entry. I have always agreed with everything you wrote here - that success is mostly based on hard work and that the point of a lot of this education, exposure, networking, etc. is to make sure that you hard work is down the right path (in engineering, work is not just force, but also distance, right?). I also feel that most smart people see right through the offers of solution recipes (and that people spouting or believing in the silver bullet solutions are people to be shunned).

keep up the honest message.
